Summer Starts in the Air

Every year, the pattern repeats. From late May through September, European private aviation enters its peak season. Demand surges, aircraft availability tightens, and the most popular routes fill up fast.

Here’s what we’re seeing for summer 2026.

The Routes Everyone Wants

London to Nice / Cannes. The single busiest charter corridor in Europe. Film festival season in May, followed by relentless summer demand through September. Book at least two weeks ahead for peak weekends.

Munich / Zurich to Ibiza. The party island remains a magnet. Friday departures are the most contested slots. Midsize jets are the sweet spot — enough range, enough cabin space for groups of 6–8.

Paris to Sardinia (Olbia). Costa Smeralda draws a consistent high-net-worth crowd. Olbia’s airport handles private traffic efficiently, but parking slots for aircraft fill up — early coordination is essential.

London to Mykonos. Growing year on year. The route is at the edge of light jet range, making midsize the practical choice. Direct flights save hours compared to commercial connections via Athens.

Geneva / Zurich to Split / Dubrovnik. Croatia’s Adriatic coast continues to gain ground as a charter destination. Shorter range, well-served by light jets. An increasingly popular alternative to the Western Mediterranean.

Milan to Santorini. A newer entrant to the top tier, driven by destination weddings and luxury tourism. Limited FBO infrastructure means early planning pays off.

Why Availability Matters

Private aviation isn’t like booking a hotel room. Aircraft are physical assets that reposition constantly. During peak summer:

  • Popular departure airports (London Luton, Le Bourget, Nice) experience slot congestion
  • Aircraft availability drops as demand spikes across all categories
  • Pricing increases — sometimes 20–30% above off-peak rates
  • Empty legs multiply — more repositioning means more one-way opportunities

How to Secure Your Summer Flight

Book early. If your dates are fixed, two to four weeks’ lead time is advisable during peak season. For large groups or heavy jets, longer.

Stay flexible. A Tuesday departure is significantly easier to source than a Friday evening. Flexibility on timing or nearby airports can save both money and stress.

Ask about empty legs. Summer repositioning creates a constant stream of discounted one-way flights. Tell us your preferred routes — we’ll match you to available legs.
